The mainspringed approach
Every service, regardless of scope or price, follows the same foundational method: assess honestly, communicate clearly, work carefully, and document everything.
Initial assessment
We examine the piece, discuss what you have noticed, and provide an honest view of what it needs before any decision is made.
Written intake record
A condition record is made at drop-off. You receive a copy. This documents the state of the piece before we begin.
Work with communication
If something unexpected is found during work, we contact you before proceeding. Nothing significant is done without your knowledge.
Completion summary
Every piece collected comes with a written summary of what was done, any parts used, and notes on anything to watch for.

Mechanical Health Check & Service
A thorough clean, oil, and timing service for mechanical watches, with an honest condition note and clear next-step suggestions. A sensible choice when a watch feels sluggish or has been resting in a drawer for a while.

Service 02
Heirloom Restoration
A gentle, reversible restoration for inherited and vintage watches, carried out in agreed stages. Includes case refinishing, dial and hand review, and careful sourcing of period parts. Original components are documented and returned. Suited to pieces that hold family history.

How a restoration is handled
Initial consultation. We examine the piece and discuss the history and your goals.
Written estimate for each stage. Work only begins once you agree to proceed.
Staged work, with progress notes. Contact before any deviation from the agreed plan.
Collection with full written record and return of all original replaced parts.
Service 03
Care & Protection Visit
A quick service covering battery change, gasket renewal, strap adjustment, and a water-resistance test, finished with a short written summary. A simple, affordable way to keep an everyday watch dependable and protected.

Shared standards
What every service includes
Written documentation
Intake record at drop-off, completion summary at collection. Both are plain English — not jargon.
Secure workshop storage
Watches not under active work are kept in a locked cabinet. Access is limited to the watchmaker and assistant.
Communication before changes
If scope changes during work — parts unavailable, unexpected damage found — we stop and contact you before proceeding.
Pressure-tested seals
Any watch that passes through the workshop with water-resistance claims is pressure-tested before being returned.
BHI-certified watchmaker
Work is undertaken by a watchmaker holding British Horological Institute certification — a recognised professional standard.
No hidden costs
Standard service prices are posted. Restoration work is estimated in writing before it begins. The price you agree to is the price you pay.
